Pagebook with InternetExplorer 9: sorting & hierarchy functions dont work

Hi Experts,

 

I am testing DesignStudio 1.0 for a few days now and have a small problem with a pagebook-container in InternetExplorer. We are trying the mobile app on the iPad and therefore I thought, pagebooks would look nicer than tabs cause you can swipe. Also we would like to show the applications with the BI Launchpad (IE).

 

On the first page of the pagebook I have a crosstab based on a BEx-Query DS with enabled hierarchy in the columns. Unfortunately when I execute the application the interactive buttons (e.g. "sort alphabetically by rows", "enhance/close hierarchy level (+/-)", "sort by ascending/descending values in the columns") are not working in IE 9. Also the "swipe effect" (e.g. flip/cube) does not work properly: It just opens the next page without visual effect. Changing the theme (e.g. platinum --> ipad_mobile) doesn't help..

 

In Mozilla Firefox 15.0.1 or in the iPad App everything works fine!!

 

Do I have to change some security settings for IE to make this work?

(Especially the dynamic sorting/hierarchy-elements.. Visual swipe effects are not really important..)

 

I already found out, that it seems to work in IE as long as I have only 1(!) page in the pagebook.

When I add a second page these elements don't work anymore...

 

I am using IE in Version 9.0.8112.16421 (standard security settings).

 

Anyone has a good advice?

Cannot view any data sources in SAP BusinessObjects Design Studio

Hi ALL.

I am having trouble creating an application, simply I cannot select a data source using SAP BusinessObjects Design Studio (DS).

A connection to the actual datasource is successfully created, that being SAP HANA. I do have a some information models created in SAP HANA, however when I try to add a data source I do not see anything. I tried to search for them, however nothing is returned. The user I created the connection to Design Studio is a SAP HANA user with the necessary rights or privileges.

Attached are some screen-shots to illustrate my issue.

 

Your help will be much appreciated.

Analysis Application not working on BI Platform

Hello,

 

I created a simple Analysis Application in Design Studio Locally with a connection to a SAP BEx Query. I Assigned the DataSource to a Crosstab.

 

When I execute the Application locally it works fine, but when I save it on the BI Platform and want to run it from the Launchpad I get the following error:

Problem with report's URL

Hi All,

 

I have some problems with Design Studio when I try to send a report to an Ipad.

More precisely:

 

I'm using Design Studio connected to BI platform; after that the QR code is generated, I  try to scan it whit an Ipad but it doesn't wotk.

 

I've also tried to copy the url but this is the result:

Do you have any ideas?

Hi everyone,

I am trying to view an SAP Design Studio Application on my BI Platform but I get an error message:

“Cannot load query "cuid:FpCyuFC.0wMA12YAAEC5xEQBABekdwAw/ZSTATSTCK_EXCEPTION_001" (data provider "DS_SALES_EXCEPTION": No service implementation available)”.

 

I have been working and testing this app for a couple of hours and it was working fine.  I then send the link to the customer and then this message popped up - for me too

 

Strangely I also get this same error message when creating BW Workspaces in Advanced Analysis in my prod environment...

 

Any ideas?

Edit initial view for datasource not working

Hi Design Studio guru's,

 

I was wondering if one of you could help me with the following.

I have successfully added a datasource to my application. The datasource is based on a BEx query, and I can see my data both at design time and at runtime, regardless if I execute locally or on the BI platform. So far so good, all connections and settings seem to be correct.

However, when I right click on the datasource in the 'outline' pane and choose 'Edit Initial View' I get the following pop-up:

 

"Failed to initialze the editor for data source "DS_1" (see error log for details)"

 

The error log in the Designer Application does not show any further messages.

I can see the Editor screen under the pop-up, showing the 'measures' and characteristics from my datasource and the different areas for rows, columns and the background filter. It also shows the live preview with the data I expect.

When I confirm the error message the pop-up with the error message and the editor disappear....

 

If anyone could help me out with this one I would be very greatful - I am running out of ideas.

Design Studio - Error while connecting to BIP SP5

Hello Experts,

 

I have installed BIP SP5 in my local machine and also installed server component of Design studio.

I launched Design studio and gave the BIP Credentials ( Enterprise Authentication)

For Webservice URL , I give the default URL - http://localhost:8080/dswsbobje/services/Session.

On Clicking OK - i get the error LOGON Failed - Bad Port Number in CMS name : For input String: "".

I have attached screenshot for the same for your reference.

 

On checking the url - http://localhost:8080/dswsbobje/services/Session. in browser, I got the following message :

<Please enable REST support in WEB-INF/conf/axis2.xml and WEB-INF/web.xml>.

I then went  to the axis2.xml file and updated the REST Support to true, as per link - https://scn.sap.com/message/7101744.

Restarted the System after this change and checked again, but get the same issue even after this.

 

I’m able to logon to Launchpad and CMS without any problem.

 

Any pointers on this is highly appreciated.

Add Measure in DEsign studio using script

Can i add measures in my document just like i add dimensions using Script.   I am not asking for initial view, i am referring to script where i could dynamically add any measure if i want to add or replace any measure using script.

Design Studio: possible to use the dimension member of a CROSSTAB as filter for DS_2?

Dear Colleagues,

 

Is it possible to use the dimension member of CROSSTAB_1as filter for DS_2?

E.g. CROSSTAB_1 shows Top 10 BPartner, I would like to see all the OrderNr. of these 10 BPartner in DS_2.

support of input ready BEx variables in DS

Hi experts,

 

I just went through hand-on session on SAP BOBJ Design Studio 1.0 as shared on last year TechEd.

It was said in session that Design Studio is not supporting mandatory BEx variables. There is also workaround suggested to set those variables with default values and then use scripting in Design Studio in order to manipulate value of variable.

 

Can someone having experience with mandatory BEx variables share details how this would be implemented?

Hello,

 

In a previous threath(http://scn.sap.com/message/13990090#13990090) I was not able to run my Analysis Application on the BO server. Now it is solved and I am able to run my Analysis Application locally and at the BO server.

 

Currently I'm facing a new problem:

 

Now I'm getting the error "Could not instantiate DataSource" when I wan't to edit the intitial view of the BW DataSource.

 

Any ideas?

InputString Filter in DS

Hi Dashboard Designer gurus,

 

I am trying to set up Inputstring of the filter and values has spaces in it which it does not like.. may i get help of correct syntax?

Here  are the values.

 

CP; J&J; P&G; GSK; LEVER; CHURCH AND DWIGHT; DABUR; HENKEL; A.O. (SPEC. CO.)

 

i.e. CHURCH AND DWIGHT has space and app does not like it and complains about it. Please adivse me on correct input

SAP NetWeaver BW connections on BI platform - not visible in Design Studio

Hello Experts,

 

 

I have a problem with a centrally stored BW connection on BI platform.

With BO Analysis for Office 1.3 I am able to use this BW connection and I can browse the data.

When checking the backend connections in Design Studio 10.1. I can not see this connection.

It does not work with BI platform 4.0 and BI platform 4.0 SP1.

 

Has anyone an idea?

SSO, WinAD and Design Studio Client

Hello,

 

I've some trouble to implement Single-Sign-On for the Design Studio Client application. If I check the Option Single-Sign-On [X] Enabled in the logon screen, I'll get the following error message:

 

An exception occured during Single-Sign-On:

java.lang.ClassCastException: org.ietf.jgss.GSSException cannot be cast to [B...

 

See the documentation for Single-Sign-On using Kerberos.


 

So far, I've added the following two lines to the Analysis.ini file, which is located in the root folder of the Design Studio client:

-Djava.security.auth.login.config=C:\Windows\bscLogin.conf

-Djava.security.krb5.conf=C:\Windows\krb5.ini

 

 

The bscLogin.conf contains the following lines:

sap.bo.dsws.client {

com.sun.security.auth.module.Krb5LoginModule required

debug=true

useTicketCache=true;

};

 

 

Is there something else missing?

Is it possible to trace the SSO authentication?

Design studio using Non SAP source

How do we connect design studio to a non sap source(RDBMS datasource)?Can anyone give an overview on the connectivity options (non sap).

We are trying to connect the design studio using the QAAWS,It throws an error "failed to store session password in secure store".

Did any one encounter this issue in SAP business objects design studio 1.0 version while using QaaWS.

Greetings,

 

I am using Design Studio 1.0 SP02, client version and server version. I was always able to logon to the BO platform, but since a while I get the following message:

Is necessary to update at SP5 the BI4 platform?

 

Is necessary to have a particolar version of SAP Netweaver BW to use BEx Query as datasource on Design Studio?

how to create multiple filter in Design Studio?

Hi,

 

I have COUNTRY in 1st drop-down and STATE in 2nd drop-down. When I select COUNTRY it should show the corresponding State's which belongs to that country.

 

Now I'm get the list of Countries in 1st drop-down and list of State in 2nd drop-down.

 

Can somebody help to do this dynamic filter.
